LG posts ad in WSJ : We Make Phones Not War

This is the LG I like to see. While the company has normally been more on the humble side, staying away from pointing fingers and over the top ads, it’s taken a bolder approach with its latest ad found in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. The full-page ad says “We Make Phones Not War” in large letters, with a paragraph at the bottom showcasing how the Optimus G came to life and the collaboration efforts of LG’s sister companies.

It’s pretty obvious to see why LG is going this route now, and that’s because it has one of the most powerful and beautiful devices on the market, and it comes it two variations. That phone would be the LG Optimus G, which is by far the best handset we’ve ever seen from the company. The sexy device has also been retrofitted into the latest Nexus device from Google, the Nexus 4, which sold out quickly once it was made available last week in the Google Play Store.

The ad is enough to get some attention for sure, but it’s obvious that LG isn’t waging war of its own. We’re glad to see that LG has confidence in its product and that it will continue to push forward in the market. With smartphones like the Optimus G and Nexus 4 under its belt, it makes us pretty damn excited to see what else LG is cooking up for 2013.

What do you think of the ad? Do you think LG should have gone bolder with its statement?
