Guess we all expected something like this to be released. Yup, the fake Galaxy Note II has been spotted online and it’s everything but an impressive device like Sammy’s original phablet. Instead of boasting a super-fast quad-core CPU, this clone, called Star S7180, uses dual-core MT6577 processor. Moreover, there’s just a single gigabyte of RAM (versus original Note II’s 2 gigs) and 4GB of built-in storage.

On the camera front, the Star S7180 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash — like the original Note II though we assume the sensor isn’t on par with what Samsung is using; as well as VGA front-facing camera (vs. 2MP one of the Note II). Additionally, the fake Note has the same screen size (5.5-inch) but we doubt it can show 720p resolution. As for the OS used, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show out of box.

All said, we would say the Star S7180’s hardware is definitely worth $150, but we still can’t suggest anyone to buy this thing… as it’s a blatant rip-off.
