Huawei’s chairman of devices, Richard Yu, couldn’t help himself – he wanted to show the world the device he’s been using lately prior to its official announcement. It’s the upcoming Ascend Mate with which the Chinese company is entering the phablet market, currently dominated by Samsung Galaxy Note devices. Mr Yu went ahead and whipped out his super big phone in front of fans at a Huawei store in Guangzhou as you can see from the image above.

As far as we know, Huawei will announce the Ascent Mate at the forthcoming CES in Las Vegas when we’ll also see some other products like a couple of Windows Phones (Ascend W1 and Ascend W2) and perhaps few other models. The Ascend Mate will apparently sport a 6.1-inch full HD 1080p screen, 2GB of RAM, 1.8GHz quad-core processor and so on and on. We’re not sure we want one — it may be too big for us — but we definitely want to try it out…
