o2academyCompleting my trio of O2-related stories this fine day:

O2 are having a launch party for the O2 academies, in support of the War Child Brits after Party. I’ll let them explain:

Brixton Academy. Islington Academy. Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Now we’re part of it. To launch the O2 Academies, we’re supporting the War Child Brits after party. Coldplay and The Killers will be on stage. It’s at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 18 February. You’re on O2. So you could be there. For a chance to win one of 70 pairs of tickets, sign up at o2.co.uk/launch. Tell your friends about it and you could win VIP tickets or one of 500 ‘War Child: Heroes’ albums.

You’ll note above that I’ve highlighted the key requirement here – that you are on O2 – but if you are, then happy days!

In case you are wondering what the O2 academies are, it’s basically O2 extending it’s partnership with the live music company called “Live Nation”. Live Nation/Academy Music Group (AMG) venues have been renamed as O2 Academies (there are a whole host of ’em).

O2 customers will obviously have priority access to the venues (up to 48 hours before they go on general release), and there will be O2 tech in-venue, with mobile ticketing and NFC technologies making a showing. The new venues include Brixton, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool and Newcastle.

If you are on O2 and wanna get in on the launch party action, go here.
