Paranoid Android ROM tweaks on-screen navigation keys in a sexy way

Paranoid Android has been around for a while, and it’s always been something I’ve admired from a distance. On the surface, the custom ROM may just seem like it’s a tablet version of the OS slapped onto Android phones, but it’s not. There’s a lot going on with the project and one of the coolest additions pertains to the on-screen navigation keys. No longer are they bound the bottom of the screen – they’re just about anywhere you want them.

This new method looks quite nice and reminds us a lot of the quick controls found on the browser for Android in the labs section. Paranoid Android’s feature is much more interesting, as you can regain the space that was once dedicated for these keys. And of course, just like previous builds of the ROM, you can still customize the color scheme of the navigation keys.

This is just one of many features found within the ROM, and it’s one that you can truly tweak to your heart’s desire. Offering up a true hybrid mode between phone and tablet, Paranoid Android is easily one of the coolest ROMs around today. Setup for the ROM is a little more involved than most you’ll come across, but if you’re looking to achieve some of the coolest tweaks in the custom ROM world, it will likely be well worth the patience.

This release is currently only available for Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus devices at the moment, but expect support for more phones in the near future!

I know one thing for sure, and that that my Nexus 4 will probably getting rooted very soon so I can try this out!

Anyone else interesting in giving Paranoid Android a try? Sound off in the comments below!
