Mobile payment experts at BOKU announced a partnership with U.S. Cellular to “maximize the adoption” of direct-to-bill mobile operator billing as a payment option.
Online merchants opting to integrate with U.S. Cellular’s API benefit from making it easier for customers to pay for goods and services. In the order process, consumers simply enter their phone number to checkout, and respond via text message to confirm the payment with the charges appearing on their wireless bill.
The U.S. Cellular advanced direct billing API supports an efficient user authentication process, accurate and timely notification of billing errors impacting purchase, continuous pricing (so that merchants can create a wide range of price points), and an interface that cost effectively processes refunds within the U.S. Cellular billing system.
As for the end users, U.S. Cellular’s postpaid subscribers, they can immediately begin paying online with their mobile account at participating online merchants.
