Samsung ATIV Tab won’t be available for long in Europe

Samsung ATIV Tab won't be available for long in Europe

Looks like Europeans will soon join Americans in their inability to get the Samsung ATIV Tab, the Korean company’s Windows RT based tablet.

Samsung has said to German media outlets that ATIV Tab will soon stop selling in the country as well as some other European countries due to low interest shown by the retailers. However, as I’m writing this, the device is still available from Amazon Germany though that could easily change in a day or two.

As you probably know, the main difference between Windows RT and “regular” Windows 8 platforms is in the processor architecture the two systems rely on — while the former is made for ARM-based chips, the latter sings along x86 processors. In other words, looks like users don’t dig Microsoft’s tablet-specific OS and would rather go for the “real deal” with all the apps that are (and will be) available for Windows 8.
