Unannounced Motorola phone gets a hands-on, probably isn’t X phone

The people over at Tinhte got their hands on a mysterious Motorola phone that hasn’t been rumored or leaked via imagery in any way, yet the device sat in someone’s hands for a quite some time for showcase. You’ll notice on the bottom in small print the device reads “Motorola Confidential Property.” That didn’t work out too well, apparently.

The handset looks somewhat cheap and has matching specs to further that impression. This alone makes Tinhte conclude that this most likely isn’t the coveted X Phone from Motorola and Google we’ve been awaiting. The hardware design is pretty nice though with a smooth, curved back casing. It has a 4-inch 720p AMOLED display which is very small by Android phone standards, a Snapdragon S4 processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and a 2,000mAh battery.

Adequate, yes, but definitely not powerful enough specs to be the X, especially having just a 4 inch display. It seems like merely a mid-range handset, which probably explains why we haven’t heard anything about it up until this point. Tinhte has a hands-on video below exploring the phone in more detail (chances are you won’t understand the audio portion of the tour) and perhaps we’ll see this unannounced Motorola phone land some time in 2013.
