HTC One won’t arrive in the U.S. until the end of April

HTC One has been in the news quite a bit lately, in some cases for good reasons and others for bad. The somewhat negative spotlight its been getting revolves around the delay. Now according to a press release from HTC, we know some more specifics: the HTC One will arrive in the United states by the end of April.

“HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April,” the press release reads. “We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.”

Just a few days ago we found out that the shipment delays for the HTC One are due to component shortages, and before that there was a flood of rumors suggesting just that. The phone is pretty highly anticipated and very well received by reviewers. We gave it a stellar review as well.

Even when put up against fierce competition like the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One is looking like it might be one of the best Android handsets of 2013. That’s good news for consumers and even better news for HTC, a struggling smartphone vendor these days. We’ll find out at the end of April whether the One will be enough to turn things around.
