Analysts call on Nokia to enter the phablet market or risk blowing it

Nokia is trying to make a comeback with its Lumia handsets, but it is failing to address several growing trends in the mobile phone industry — notably big-screen handsets and tablets.

According to a report in Bloomberg, Nokia risks losing its momentum with the Lumia series if it doesn’t branch out into other form factors soon. This sentiment is echoed by IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo, who agrees that “this is a trend that can’t be missed.” It’s not all doom and gloom for Nokia as Jeronimo believes the company is working on bigger devices. The big question, though, is whether the Finnish company can get the products out in time to be competitive in the market.
