Jolla launches Sailfish OS SDK for Linux, Windows and Mac

Jolla, which hopes to enter the smartphone market later this year with the MeeGo-based Sailfish OS, made its SDK available for developers. Windows, OS X, 32- and 64-bit Linux versions can all be downloaded from the company’s website though you should know the SDK is just a minnow and there are already some issues caught by Jolla and the developer community.

We can’t really advise you to put in some excessive resources into developing for this platform, but you may want to check out how things are working to be ready when the first Sailfish phone is out. As far as we know, it could be big in the Far East region with China Fortune putting some serious cash behind Jolla. We’ll make sure to keep following this story and get back to you as soon as new details emerge…
