Leak Shows Huawei Ascend W2 Windows Phone

A leak has surfaced today detailing Huawei’s new Windows Phone 8 offering, the Huawei Ascend W2. We have seen some rumblings of this device before, and the new leak brings us a detailed spec sheet that shows a fairly high-end device.

The device will be supposedly sporting a 4.3-inch 720p HD IPS touchscreen, a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, and 8 MP rear camera with an LED flash and 1080p video capabilities, 1 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, HSPA+ and a 2,000 mAh battery. No details have been seen about the internal storage amount or if it will have a microSD card. Puzzlingly enough, the release date is November 15, 2012, which is obviously in the past, so there’s no telling what’s up with that.

The starting price for the unit is rumored to be $289, which seems to be pretty reasonable considering the specs of the unit. Up until this point, Huawei had been making fairly mid-range phones, but has been making higher end phones as of late, releasing the Ascend D1 and D2, both Windows PhonesAndroid with reasonable specs.

This rumor is in its infancy, and is a little weird considering the release date of November 2012. But if this phone is indeed a reality, we will surely see more rumors popping up in the coming months.
