In a nice story that shows the man standing behind his own principles, a US judge fined himself after his mobile phone rang in the courtroom.

Michigan Judge Raymond Voet has previously posted an order on his courtroom stating that any electronic devices causing a disturbance will result in the owner getting a fine.

During the closing phase of a court hearing, the Judge’s own mobile phone was ringing, causing a considerable embarrassment for him. He later said that he must have knocked the phone by mistake.

He did issued a fine of $25 against himself nonetheless, adding that he couldn’t enforce rules on other people if he refused to be bound by them himself. Kudos for the attitude… 🙂
