Amazon opens the flood gates, opens app distribution to nearly 200 countries

Amazon.com announced that developers can now submit their apps for distribution in nearly 200 countries, including such places as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, India, South Africa, South Korea, and even Papua New Guinea and Vatican City.

The good thing is that international distribution comes as default, and developers will rather have to opt-out if for some reason they don’t want to have their apps appearing all across the globe.

Once submitted (and approved), these apps will be made available in the coming months when the Amazon Appstore for Android launches internationally for consumers.

This international expansion is the latest in a series of Amazon Appstore for Android launches, which have included the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan. In order to join the party, developers should visit the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Portal and take it from there.
