Rumor hints at iPhone launch on Boost mobile in Q3 2013

Known for his inside leaks, twitter member @evleaks is back again with a rumor that suggests Sprint-subsidiary Boost Mobile is getting the iPhone later this year. His simple tweet says “iPhone to Boost Mobile in Q3.”  If true, Boost would become one of several prepaid carriers offering the iPhone, joining carriers like Virgin Mobile, which is also owned by Sprint, and Cricket, a division of Leap Wireless.

It will be interesting to see if the iPhone  is successful or not on these prepaid carriers. A Wall Street Journal report from earlier this year suggests Cricket is not selling the iPhone as fast as it would like and is sitting on a growing inventory of unsold iPhones.
