Verizon Wireless smartphone customers to get a taste of AOL starting this summer

AOL and Verizon Wireless announced a content distribution deal that’ll bring some of AOL’s homepage to your Verizon Wireless smartphone and tablet. Starting this summer, AOL confirmed it will be the exclusive provider for VZW’s mobile web portal. This is the page that your phone defaults to when you launch the web browser.

In other words, AOL will be all over your web browser when you launch it for the first time. The AOL homepage will be formatted for your mobile device and can be personalized to show content from your favorite news sources. Thankfully, it’s only a bookmark so you will be able to change it after that first launch burns your eyes.
