Photos of Sony Xperia A (Dogo) spotted at FCC

As if we needed any other proof that Sony is prepping a handful of new devices for the 2nd half of the year, we finally have a glimpse at the Xperia A (Dogo) to confirm at least one of the upcoming devices.

The handset falls in line with the existing Xperia Z’s design language, featuring the large, centralized power/lock button. From the photos, you’ll also see that the device isn’t nearly as svelte as the Xperia Z. You won’t find a glass back on the Xperia A, but you will have a removable battery cover instead, in case you’d like to replace the 2300 mAh battery.

Other specifications of the Xperia A include a 5 inch 1080p HD display, 13 megapixel camera, 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, 2GB RAM and LTE support. While there’s no mention of what processor is running the show, we’d expect it to at least match the Xperia Z’s Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, if not getting the bump to the Snapdragon 600.

With  NTT DoCoMo set to unveil new Sony devices on the 15th, the Xperia A will more than likely get its official debut then. We’d imagine that there’s little chance to see this device come to this side of the pond, but the Xperia Z and ZL are more than adequate enough to ease the pain.

This is definitely the Sony we like to see. Pumping out great devices that people will surely like, and the Xperia A is just one of many potential device that will be unveiled before the end of the year.
