More details on the HTC Maple

HTC’s making a big push into the smartphone market for 2009 with some interesting new hardware. And, we have it on good authority that HTC’s booth presence at CTIA Las Vegas 2009 should be a fair bit more grandiose than in previous years – a sign of big things to come, perhaps. So, what does HTC have planned? One thing’s for sure, we’ll be seeing a lot of the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 at the show. But, the lesser-known, BlackBerry-esque HTC Maple should also be on-hand for a bit of in-person perusal. The HTC Maple is rumored to be making its first-ever debut at the CTIA conference next month in beautiful Las Vegas.

The HTC Maple is expected to sport a 2 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch display, QWERTY keyboard and Windows Mobile Standard. It’s unclear whether or not 3G is in the cards, but if HTC is smart about it, they’ll include 3G data in the HTC Maple.

The Economic Daily News is also reporting on a rumor that HTC is in talks with all four major wireless carriers in the US. The report indicates that both CDMA and GSM variants of the HTC Maple are in play, and could result in a Maple-covered US smartphone market.
