iPhone 3.0 to Feature Cut and Paste, Bring Apple up to Speed with Pre?

Kevin Rose of Diggnation fame has just let the cat out of the bag about iPhone 3.0 features. Looking for something really awesome like video recording or background applications? Who needs stuff like that? Let’s do cut and paste! Much more ominous is the comment that this update will basically bring the iPhone up-to-date to compete with the Palm Pre. Big talk, but if Apple can hang onto those early adopters that Palm was hoping to whisk away, that’s one segment the Pre won’t be able to touch. It’s nice that cut and paste is finally coming to the iPhone, but as co-host Alex Albrecht aptly points out, it only took them three full versions to include it, and even then, there’s a lot of holes missing. I wonder what kind of Pre-style functions Apple will be including? More social networking? Tighter GPS integration? Who knows! The announcement is tomorrow, so it won’t be long until we find out for sure. In the meantime, feel free to hit up our poll let everyone know what you would most like to see in the next update, and if the option isn’t there, leave a comment in our podcast for a chance to win a free Bluetooth headset.
