Following Google’s announcement to shut down its Google Reader, few companies reacted and launched similar services, including Feedly and Digg.
AOL, which has gone a long way from ISP to content provider/maker, will try its chances with the upcoming AOL Reader, launching in private beta tomorrow.
According to Engadget, the service will work across devices, supporting computers, tablets and mobile phones. Dedicated app may also be unveiled and the same goes for API, allowing third-party developers to take advantage of all that content aggregation.
Users on their end will be able to login using existing services like Facebook, Google and Twitter. The first invites will be accepted staring tomorrow, June 24th, when we’ll many other details. Stay tuned…
