Oppo working on an Android-based smart camera?

Looks like Oppo may be looking to enter the smart camera market, currently dominated by Samsung’s Galaxy Camera.

According to AndroidAuthority, the Chinese company has held a briefing on the Android-powered camera, in which attendees were told the device would be “high resolution,” and use an “owl” image processor to make for awesome photos in low-light conditions. In addition, the product will also offer what Oppo says is “true to form” image replication, featuring “innovative” body design along with interface that supports creativity… whatever that means. A remote shutter and flash will be included as well, and so will a number of photo sharing/enhancing apps

Yeah, we don’t actually have a lot to share about the forthcoming Oppo Camera but are looking forward to get first leaked photos soon. We think there’s room in this niche market and can’t really understood why other OEMs don’t launch similar products, offering more options (and perhaps lower prices) to consumers. If you have any idea, feel free to drop it in the comments form below. 😉
