Those of you waiting for the next-gen iPad mini may have to wait a little longer than expected. According to some industry sources, Apple won’t release the successor to its smaller tablet this year. Rather, such device will be released at some point in 2014, most likely in the first half of the year.
It is said that Apple wants to use Retina panel technology equipped with 2,048 by 1,536 resolution in the next generation 7.9-inch iPad mini. Moreover, the company also wants to tweak the design and make for a near bezel-less look and feel.
However, some improved version of the existing iPad mini may be out this year though it wouldn’t pack many changes. We’re hearing this model could be lighter and thinner, but it will keep the current screen resolution. And we’ve no doubts that version will also sell like cupcakes during the upcoming holiday season, pretty much “turning” those buyers into suckers when the “real” iPad mini launches in 2014.
So if you need a piece of advice whether to buy the iPad mini this year – we say: “no, wait for the next model.”
