Hisense unveiled a new affordable smartphone in its own backyard – Hisense U939, which not only looks good, but also comes with an affordable price tag of just $130.
Specs wise, this phone rocks a 4.5-inch 480×854 pixels touchscreen, 1.3Ghz dual-core MT6572 chipset, 512MB of RAM, 1630mAh battery and 4GB of expandable storage (using microSD cards). Sure, it’s nothing special, but pretty cool for the price.
As for the mentioned design, the U939 sports minimalistic all black front, coupled with black, blue, yellow, pink or white rear panel. All this is packed into a box measuring 132×67.6×10.5 mm.
Now why do you care about this? Well, there’s a slight chance that this, or some similar device, could end up selling in a Walmart near you. If you recall, the retail giant is already selling two affordable (and decent) Hisense tablets. Perhaps their next move will be to expand the relationship with the Chinese company and offer their phones as well. Perhaps not. We would definitely like to see more competition in the low-to-mid end smartphone space, wouldn’t you?
