The new report by The Wall Street Journal claims that Apple China mobile deal is “as good as done.” According to the report, Apple has asked Foxconn, its contract manufacturing partner, to “add China Mobile to the list of carriers slated to receive a new low-cost iPhone.”

However, it’s not clear whether the contract has been signed already and whether China Mobile will be part of iPhone launch event, taking place in Beijing on September 11th.

Some sources suggest that China Mobile will start selling the iPhone in November as it still waits to get a license for its TD-LTE 4G network. It is suggested that the world’s largest mobile operator by subscriber numbers will initially offer the lower-cost iPhone 5C model though the flagship iPhone 5S unit may also be added at a later date.

As usual, Apple is secretive about its plans and we’ll rather have to wait for the official word coming from Cupertino. Meanwhile, Apple shareholders are looking for a super-successful quarter with the new iPhones starting to sell in China and Japan… We’ll likely be talking more about this in the days to come. Stay tuned…
