iPhone trade-in program is now available in Apple retail stores across the UK

Apple’s iPhone trade-in program has made its way overseas and now is available for UK shoppers, says a report in The Guardian. The reuse and recycle option allows customers to trade-in their used electronics and receive up to £175 towards the purchase of a new iPhone.

The process in the UK works just like it does stateside. Customers take in their iPhones to an Apple retail store where an Apple employee inspects the phone to make sure it is functional and examines it for flaws. Apple then offers the customer a trade-in price. The money from the trade-in can be used to offset the price of a new iPhone.

Apple accepts only one smartphone model — the iPhone — and only one tablet model — the iPad. The company will also accept select desktop and laptop computers from a variety of manufacturers.
