Sony’s Throwback Playstation Video Showcases The Console From Its 1995 Beginnings

The official debut of the Sony Playstation 4 will be soon upon us, and the company recently released a video on its YouTube channel that shows how many of us have grown up with the console since 1995.

The video below is essentially the lifespan of the console from one player’s room, and you’ll see all of the necessary style changes in graphics, games, and clothing for the time. Along with all of your upgraded Sony TV’s, of course.  The nostalgic video will have gamers remembering a time when Resident Evil : Code Veronica was considered scary and when emo bangs where a thing. Overall, the video is pretty great and will have you missing random titles like Rayman and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.

The Playstation 4 is going to be a hot item this holiday season, and we have little doubt that Sony will be able to move the 5 million consoles it’s aiming to sell by April 2014. While the Xbox One is hardly anything to scoff at, a series of missteps and flip-flops from Microsoft have given the Playstation 4 an edge in terms of appeal, even without the cheaper price point.

Needless to say, the next-generation consoles are going to have casual and hardcore gamers lining the streets to get in on the action.

Check out the video below and let us know your favorite game from the PS1 and PS2 era in the comments!
