Don’t let this particular Windows Mobile skin’s name fool you. The “WM7 Titanium Project” isn’t going to turn your Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone into a true-blue WinMo 7.0 handset, but it’s sure to inject it with some UI-freshness! xda-developers forum member ibrythill has posted his newly crafted “WM7 Titanium Project” theme/skin for Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional devices sporting WVGA displays. The idea behind the “WM7 Titanium Project” is to take the Windows Mobile 6.5 Titanium skin and modify it to emulate Windows Mobile 7’s UI aesthetic as closely as possible. Unfortunately, nobody really knows what Windows Mobile 7 will actually look like at launch.
So, you’re not going to get any “genuine” WM7 design elements from the WM7 Titanium Project skin, but that doesn’t mean the UI design you see here is any less impressive. The downside is that you’ll need to get your hands on a smartphone fitted with a WVGA display, install Windows Mobile 6.5 onto said handset and then install the new WM7 Titanium Project skin. Those first two steps are a doozy.
