The @evleaks Twitter feed dropped its latest bombshell last week, with speculation about HTC‘s upcoming smartphone, the M8. The HTC M8 is rumored to be the successor to the HTC one, and it’s shaping up to be a worthy one!

The M8 will go up against next year’s Galaxy S5, successor to the wildly popular Galaxy S4 from Samsung. If the leak is to be believed, HTC is packing the M8 with high-end components to ensure it’s a formidable powerhouse. According to @evleaks, the M8 will come with Android 4.4 KitKat, and rock a beautiful 5 inch, full 1080p display. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip will provide some major horsepower.

The photo above, leaked recently, shows the M8’s metal body which is similar to the HTC One. It’s rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner like the HTC One Max as well.

Of course, these leaks always should be taken with a grain of salt until the device is officially announced. Either way, we know we’re excited to see this handset in its final form.

Do you think HTC’s new flagship can unseat Samsung next year? Sound off in the comments!
