In order to further beef-up sales of its smartphones in India, Apple has started a trade-in program. The devices that will be accepted include the iPhone 4; BlackBerry Z10 and Q10; Nokia Lumia 925; HTC One, One Mini, Desire 500 and Desire 600; Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8; Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia ZR and Xperia C.
Users can get Rs. 13,000 (about $208) or more for their “old” phones as they use that money towards the purchase of the iPhone 4S or iPhone 5C.
It is said, that this scheme has already worked for the Cupertino-based company in the past when it offered Rs. 7000 ($112) cashbacks on select smartphones for iPhone 4, earlier this year.
And there’s more. Apple also wants to test a try and buy program, in which customers would be able to take an iPhone home for a few days without paying for it. Full price of the handset would be reserved on a client’s credit card to make sure he/she returns or pays for the iPhone…
