North Korean tablet launches with unlicensed Angry Birds Rio game

If you haven’t followed the world news, you should know that North Korea now has a tablet of its own. It’s not exactly an iPad killer, but it’s somewhat decent device for the country that is, unlike its southern neighbor, pretty much non-existent on the tech world map.

The 7-inch device is far from a powerhouse but it should provide Internet fix to the lucky few who could actually step out the country’s Intranet that shows only information related to the infamous revolution and North Korean establishment.

It comes with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage (presumingly expandable with microSD cards), and — check this out — the Angry Birds Rio game preloaded. As you would expect, not a dime was paid to Rovio and as far as we know, the Finnish company won’t be able to get a single cent from the North Korean regime. It will rather have to be satisfied with the fact that its game is played in such closed nations as the one ruled by Kim Jong-un. One would think it’s not a small feat to have your game selected by “Great Leader”… or not. What do you think?
