Huawei unveiled a new entry-level device in Europe. Marked as Ascend Y530, it supersedes the earlier phones in the series, including the Ascend Y300 and Y511. However, the new model isn’t much more powerful than earlier Y-devices; it rocks a 4.5-inch 480 x 854 pixels screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear and VGA front-facing cameras, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, 1,750mAh battery and 4GB of expandable storage. Size wise, the Y530 measures 132.5 x 67 x 9.3 mm and has a weight of 145 grams.

Sure it’s nothing special, and in that sense it won’t break anyone’s bank, selling for some 150 EUR sans any strings attached. Users in Germany will be among the first ones to buy Huawei’s baby in March though we guess other European countries will get it soon afterwards. It will be available in four different color versions, including black with grey, black with red, black with yellow, and white with grey…
