If you were around in the 90’s you know the legend of the Tamagotchi. The little ‘virtual pet’ was everywhere, from schoolkids backpacks to college students’ dorm rooms. While many apps have replicated the Tamagotchi in many forms on our smartphones, we’ve yet to see a Tamagotchi on a smaller screen such as a smartwatch. That’s all changed today, as the iOS Hatchi app has been ported over to the Pebble smartwatch.
Like its iOS brethren, Hatchi isn’t the most graphics heavy game you’ve played. But it doesn’t need to be, as the original Tamagotchi units weren’t much to look at either. The app does deliver a full Tamagotchi experience, and that’s all that matters.
Pebble also took the wraps off of a few new Pebble games, at GDC in San Francisco.
The Pebble version of Hatchi was just announced at Google’s GDC game developer conference in San Francisco, along with Mr. Runner and Icon Pop Quiz. Look for the new games in Pebble’s app store.
