After the Desire 816, HTC is working on two additional low-to-mid range devices – Desire 316 and Desire 516. While these two won’t excite many users in the West, they are fairly important for the Taiwanese handset maker as they could help it get back to profits. You see, while the All New HTC One is primarily made for the Western customers (though it will be available all around the world), members of the Desire family of devices are targeting users in the emerging world.

The Desire 516 will be available in two different variants and will come with a 5-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) screen, 1.3GHz or 1.2GHz quad-core chip, 512MB or 1GB of RAM, dual SIM capability, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and VGA front-facing camera.

The Desire 316 will be very similar phone with a 5-inch qHD screen and a 5-megapixel camera on the back. It lacks a second SIM card slot, though.

We’ve no idea when these two will launch but chances are this won’t be a long wait. Moreover, we would assume both the Desire 316 and Desire 516 won’t cost a fortune. We’ll see…
