Microsoft scores two new partners to make Windows Phones - Micromax and Prestigio

Almost missed this… During the recent BUILD conference in San Francisco, Microsoft announced two additional partners that will be making Windows Phone devices – Micromax and Prestigio.

The two aren’t exactly household names in the West but they could help the Redmond giant grow its market share in the growing economies.

Micromax is especially interesting as it’s one of the leading phone makers in India, which as you know, is the second most populous country in the world. The same goes for Prestigio — it too has a strong presence in the emerging markets.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the exact date when these two vendors will launch Windows Phones and can only hope that will happen sooner rather than later. Naturally, we’ll get back to you as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned…
