Apple TV Gets Three New Channels

Apple TV now has three new channels for your streaming TV viewing pleasure. Apple TV owners can now access channels from A&E, History Channel and Lifetime. While they aren’t the most exciting channels to be added to Apple TV’s lineup, the addition signals the slow rollout of Apple TV channels which we will surely see in the future.

A little while back, Amazon announced its streaming media box, the Fire TV. The Fire TV bests the Apple TV and many other set-top streaming boxes in the spec department, and packs easy access to all things Amazon. This could also light a fire under Apple’s rear end, pushing them to release more channels and content to keep up with Fire TV and other streaming boxes such as Roku.

Customers that wish to access the new Apple TV channel must have a subscription with Cablevision Optimum, DirecTV or Verizon FiOS.
