An update to the Google Camera Android app occurred today, bringing a ton of new features to Google’s recently released app. Google Camera 2.1 features a redesigned interface, the ability to take photos while recording video and much more. Here’s a look at what’s new:
Features
• Photo Sphere for immersive 360º views
• Lens Blur for SLR-like photos with shallow depth of field
• Panorama mode with high-resolution
• Viewfinder shows whole image sensor for uncropped images (may result in a smaller viewfinder on some phones)
• Updated UI that gets out of your way and is centered on an extra-large capture buttonRequirements
• Works on phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat
• Photo Sphere and Panorama require a gyro sensor (not available on Moto G)
• Photo Sphere, Panorama, and Lens Blur require at least 1 gigabyte of memory
As with all app updates, Google Camera 2.1 will be rolling out in phases, so you may not have received it yet. If not, you can always head over to XDA Developers and download the APK if you’re into that sort of thing. Sideload!
