Samsung is known to use both its own chips and those made by Qualcomm. The company’s flagship models are notorious for having two different versions, and guess what – Samsung is looking to keep using this strategy with its upcoming Galaxy Note 4.
According to SamMobile, version of Sammy’s phablet that will be sold in North America, South Korea, China and Japan will get its power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805; on the other hand, a different model rocking Samsung’s own Exynos 5433 (codenamed “HelsinkiPro”) will be available in other parts of the world. We’re not sure what this other chip is all about but we assume it packs four powerful Cortex-A15 cores that are paired with four battery-friendly Cortex-A7 cores. Or this could be Sammy’s first 64-bit SoC. We’re really not sure.
Anyway, SamMobile’s report goes on to confirm earlier rumors saying the device will come with a QHD screen (2560 x 1440 pixels), while also sporting a 16-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization on the back. For those counting, the Galaxy S5’s camera lacks this capability.
We don’t get to learn about the Note 3’s screen size (Youm?) or whether it will really be launched alongside Gear 3 smartwatch or not. As usual, we’ll be on the lookout for additional details and get back to you with more information as soon as we get ’em.
