LG has recently filed for few “G3 trademarks,” including the G3 Lite, G3 Vigor, G3 Vista and G3 Beat. The last name on the list has already been unveiled – it’s used for the G3 Mini in China. Or at least, that phone has all the bells and whistles we would expect from a smaller version of the LG G3.
As for the other names, let’s quickly see what they could be all about:
- G3 Lite – this could be the other way of saying “G3 Mini.” Perhaps the Korean company decides to change the name in some markets.
- G3 Vigor – music centric G3 which is slated for Verizon Wireless?
- G3 Vista – another Verizon-bound device?
As far as we (don’t) know, LG may never get to use any of these G3 names; it may just want to protect its IP and prevent other vendors from naming their products this way. In any case, we should get all answers in the next few weeks or so. Yes, we hope that the G3 Mini and perhaps some other variant will be officially announced in the near future.
