MediaTek MT6795 is a new System on Chip (SoC) announced by the Taiwanese company. It’s also the world’s first 64-bit true octa-core LTE chip with support for 2K (2560 x 1600 pixels) screens, and as such – it is designed to power-up the very best of mobile devices.

Offering speeds of up to 2.2GHz, the SoC features MediaTek’s CorePilot technology providing world-class multi-processor performance and thermal control, along with dual-channel LPDDR3 clocked at 933MHz for top-end memory bandwidth in a smartphone.

In addition, the high-performance SoC also satisfies the multimedia requirements of even the most demanding users, featuring multimedia subsystems that support many technologies “never before possible or seen in a smartphone,” including support for 120Hz displays and the capability to create and playback 480 frames per second (fps) 1080p Full HD Super-Slow Motion videos.

For those who count these sort of things, the MediaTek MT6795 managed to score over 47,000 at AnTuTu, which is by far the highest score we’ve seen!

MediaTek’s latest chip adds to the company’s existing 64-bit portfolio that includes the MT6752 for mainstream users and MT6732 for entry level users.

What this all means for you and I is that soon enough we’ll have an array of affordable, yet powerful mobile devices to choose from. And that’s rather great news. 😉

The first MT6795-powered devices will hit the market by the end of 2014.
