The LG G3 and LG G2 will be receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop soon, LG announced today. The update will roll out to the LG G3 in the fourth quarter of this year, with the LG G2 following shortly thereafter.
As with all software updates, the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop update will need to pass the scrutinizing eye of carriers before going live. This translates into longer wait times for customers as carriers put the update to the test to make sure everything runs smoothly. Unless LG has been working very closely with carriers already in preparation for the update it could be early next year before we see Android Lollipop landing on LG G3 units across the U.S.
