Xiaomi appears ready to launch its next T-series smartphones, with the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro expected to debut later this month. The phones could strengthen Xiaomi’s position in the premium mid-range segment, especially if the 17T makes its rumored arrival in India.
Fresh leaks suggest both devices will stick to familiar design language while offering meaningful upgrades in performance and battery life. The timing puts Xiaomi in direct competition with recent launches from OnePlus, OPCO, and Vivo in the upper mid-range space.
German publication WinFuture has revealed official-looking renders of both devices. The phones look nearly identical with flat-display designs, though they differ in size and materials. The standard 17T appears to feature a plastic build, while the Pro variant gets a more premium metal frame.
Color options will vary between models. The Xiaomi 17T comes in black, light pinkish purple, and light blue, while the Pro features darker tones of the same shades. Overall, the design looks similar to the previous 15T series but appears more compact with refreshed color choices.
The specification differences between models are more significant than the design changes. The Xiaomi 17T is expected to sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, while the larger 6.83-inch AMOLED screen on the Pro model could push that to 144Hz.
Performance specs suggest both devices are well-equipped for their price ranges:
- 17T: MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor
- 17T Pro: MediaTek Dimensity 9500 flagship processor
- Both models: Triple 50MP camera setup (primary, telephoto, ultra-wide)
- 32MP front camera on both devices
Battery life could be a major selling point. Leaks point to a 6,500mAh cell on the 17T and an even larger unit on the Pro. Charging speeds will differ significantly, with 100W fast charging on the Pro versus 67W on the standard model.
European pricing positions the series firmly in flagship territory, starting around €749 (roughly $815) and going up to €999 (about $1,085) for the Pro. These prices put both phones in direct competition with established premium mid-range devices from major competitors.
The strategy makes sense for Xiaomi’s global expansion. The 17T should offer a strong balance of performance and battery at a lower price point, while the Pro targets users who want premium materials, faster charging, and smoother displays.
If Xiaomi prices these aggressively in India, the 17T series could become a compelling alternative for users currently on older mid-range devices looking for significant camera and battery upgrades. The timing also positions Xiaomi well against recent launches in the premium mid-range segment, where competition has intensified significantly over the past year.
