OnePlus is making a bold play in China’s ultra-competitive budget phone market. The company launched two new phones today – the Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro – both priced under 1,500 yuan (roughly $207). Each targets a specific type of buyer while promising exceptional battery life.
The launch matters because it shows how far battery technology has progressed in budget devices. Just two years ago, a 5,000mAh battery was considered large for mid-range phones. Now OnePlus is cramming 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh cells into devices that cost less than many phone cases.
Two phones, two different screen philosophies
The standard Turbo 6X caters to LCD supporters. Its 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD panel runs at 144Hz and offers full DC dimming to eliminate PWM flicker. The screen hits 800 nits peak brightness for outdoor visibility. OnePlus paired this with a Dimensity 7360 Super chipset on 4nm process and that massive 7,000mAh battery.
The Turbo 6X Pro steps up to a 1.5K Samsung AMOLED display while bumping the battery to 8,000mAh. It also gets faster 80W charging versus 45W on the standard model, plus triple IP ratings including IP69 protection against high-pressure water jets. The Dimensity 7400 Super chip provides better efficiency than raw performance gains.
Features that most budget phones skip
Both phones include three connectivity options that manufacturers typically cut to save money:
- NFC for contactless payments
- Infrared blaster for controlling TVs and appliances
- 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio
This combination is rare in 2026 budget phones. Most brands remove at least one of these features to hit aggressive price points. OnePlus keeping all three gives buyers more flexibility without paying extra.
Pricing and availability details
Both phones come in three storage configurations:
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
The Turbo 6X is available in Black, Blue, and Green color options. The Pro model comes in Black and Orange. OnePlus launched both phones in China today at 2:30 PM local time.
India availability remains unconfirmed, but OnePlus has brought Turbo series phones to the Indian market before. The company will likely announce international expansion plans in the coming weeks if Chinese sales perform well.
