Realme Narzo 100x launches in India with a massive 8,000mAh battery and 144Hz display

Battery anxiety is real, and Realme knows it. The company has launched the Narzo 100x in India, a phone built around a single, hard-to-ignore spec: an 8,000mAh battery that the brand claims can last two full days on a single charge. It sits in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment, where competition is fierce and brands are constantly looking for a hook to stand out.

The Narzo 100x goes up against phones like the OnePlus N6 and iQOO Z11x, both of which have been pushing hard on battery and performance in this price range. Realme is betting that an 8,000mAh cell paired with a smooth display and a capable chip will be enough to pull buyers its way. The phone goes on sale July 22 on Amazon.

This launch also reflects a broader trend in the Indian mid-range market, where brands are prioritizing battery size and endurance as a key selling point, especially for users in smaller cities and towns who rely heavily on their phones throughout the day.

Price, variants, and early bird deals

The Narzo 100x comes in three storage configurations:

  • 4GB RAM + 128GB storage: Rs 20,999
  • 6GB RAM + 128GB storage: Rs 22,999
  • 6GB RAM + 256GB storage: Rs 24,999

Early buyers can cut costs further. There is an instant Rs 2,000 discount available through select bank offers, plus an extra Rs 500 off with a coupon code. The first sale kicks off July 22 at 12 PM on Amazon. The phone comes in two colors: Flash Orange and Midnight Black.

Battery and charging

The 8,000mAh battery is the obvious headline here. That is a genuinely large cell, and with 45W fast charging included, you are not stuck waiting hours to top it up. The phone also supports reverse charging, so you can use it to juice up earbuds or other small devices in a pinch.

For context, the OnePlus N6, which starts at Rs 22,999, also carries an 8,000mAh battery. So Realme is not alone in this approach, but it is offering the same core battery experience at a lower entry price.

Display and performance

The Narzo 100x has a 6.8-inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The resolution, however, is HD+ (720×1,570 pixels) rather than the Full HD+ screens that were standard in this price bracket not long ago. Realme is not alone in making this trade-off. A global memory shortage has pushed several brands to use lower-resolution panels to keep costs down, but it is still worth noting if sharp text and video clarity matter to you.

Under the hood, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, paired with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It ships with Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 and comes with:

  • Up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM
  • Up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage
  • Two years of Android version updates
  • Three years of security patches

Realme has also included a 5,300mm squared AirFlo vapor chamber cooling system to help manage heat during extended gaming sessions.

Camera setup and AI tools

Camera specs here are straightforward. The rear has a 50MP main sensor and a secondary lens, while the front gets an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls. These numbers are solid but not exceptional for the price.

Realme has loaded several AI-based photo tools to add value beyond the hardware:

  • AI Eraser 2.0 for removing unwanted objects from photos
  • AI Ultra Clarity for sharpening images
  • AI Unblur to fix motion blur after the fact
  • AI Portrait Glow for skin tone enhancement in portraits

Build and durability

The Narzo 100x has military-grade durability certification and an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. That IP65 rating means it can handle water jets from any direction, which is a practical feature for outdoor or on-the-go users. There is also an AI Pulse Light LED on the back, which acts as a notification indicator.

Is the Narzo 100x worth buying?

If battery life is your top priority, the Narzo 100x makes a strong case for itself. The 8,000mAh cell, 45W charging, smooth 144Hz display, and solid chip all come together in a package that starts Rs 2,000 cheaper than the OnePlus N6, which offers a similar battery but a slightly different processor.

The HD+ display is the main compromise you are making here. If you watch a lot of video or read a lot of text on your phone, the lower resolution will be noticeable compared to Full HD+ alternatives. But for commuters, travelers, or anyone who simply needs a phone that keeps going without constant charging stops, the Narzo 100x is a practical and well-priced option.
