Lava is getting ready to launch two new phones in India later this month. The Virat V1 5G and Virat V1 4G are set to go official on July 24, and details about both devices have already started surfacing ahead of that date.

As reported by Gadgets360, Lava has revealed the launch date alongside early looks at the design and color options for both models. The specs are also starting to take shape, giving buyers a clearer picture of what to expect from the Virat V1 lineup before it hits shelves.

This matters because Lava has been pushing hard to stay relevant in India’s crowded budget smartphone market. With brands like Realme, Redmi, and Samsung all fighting for the same wallet, launching a 5G option at an accessible price point is the kind of move that can help a homegrown brand hold its ground.

India’s budget 5G segment has grown fast over the past two years. Prices have dropped significantly, and buyers who once settled for 4G are now expecting 5G as a baseline. Lava clearly wants a piece of that shift, and the Virat V1 5G looks like their answer to that demand.

The Virat V1 lineup is expected to come in multiple color options, and the design language shown so far suggests Lava is going for a clean, mainstream look rather than anything too flashy. That approach tends to work well in the entry-level segment, where reliability and value matter more than bold aesthetics.

A few things to watch for when the phones officially launch:

  • Whether the 5G model lands under the Rs. 10,000 mark, which would make it one of the more affordable 5G options in India
  • What chipset Lava is using, since that will affect both performance and software support longevity
  • Battery capacity and charging speed, which are often deciding factors for budget buyers
  • Camera specs, particularly whether Lava is offering anything competitive for the price

Lava has been making a deliberate push to position itself as an Indian alternative to Chinese brands. The Virat V1 name itself carries a certain local appeal, and the company has leaned into that kind of branding before. Whether the hardware backs it up is what July 24 will tell us.

For now, the confirmed launch date and the early design details are enough to suggest Lava is treating this as a serious release rather than a quiet catalogue addition. More details should come in the days leading up to the launch.
