A rear display on a budget phone sounds like a gimmick. But Infinix might actually have a real use case here. The company has confirmed the Hot 70 Pro will launch in India in the first week of September, and the design details it dropped alongside that announcement are genuinely interesting.
The big talking point is the Active Matrix Cube, a small LED-based display on the back that reacts to notifications, calls, music, gaming, and charging. So instead of picking up your phone every two minutes, a quick glance at the back tells you if something actually needs your attention. Nothing and Tecno’s POVA have tried similar tricks before, but it’s still a feature that turns heads in public, which is free marketing for Infinix.
The four colour options are just as bold. Each one does something different:
- Thermo Orange shifts colour based on temperature
- Mirage Green adapts to low-light conditions
- Silk Glow Purple changes patterns when you tilt it
- Dive Blue keeps it clean with a matte finish
On the specs side, the global version runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7100, packs a 6,500mAh battery, and has a 50MP Sony primary camera. Pricing is still unknown, but Infinix has been clear that keeping costs down is the whole point here. And based on what we saw from the Dimensity 7100 in the Infinix Note Edge, day-to-day performance should be solid. Full details drop in September.
