Motorola’s Android 17 rollout: Every eligible device and what’s actually new

Motorola didn’t just show up for Android 17. It showed up first. The company was the first third-party brand to run an Android 17 beta program back in February, and then became the first non-Google brand to push the stable release to real devices. That’s a big deal for a manufacturer that, not long ago, had a pretty patchy reputation for software updates. Things are clearly changing.

According to Gizmochina, the Motorola Edge (2025) and Motorola Signature were the first to land the stable Android 17 build, with the rollout expanding from there. The confirmed eligible list is long and covers most major lines, including Razr foldables, Edge flagships, and even several Moto G mid-rangers. Here’s who made the cut:

  • Motorola Signature
  • Razr 70 Ultra, Razr 70 Plus, Razr 70, Razr Ultra 2026, Razr+ 2026, Razr 2026, Razr Fold 2026, Razr Fold 2025, Razr 60 Ultra, Razr 60s, Razr 60d, Razr 60, Razr Ultra 2025, Razr+ 2025, Razr 2025, Razr 50 Ultra, Razr+ 2024
  • Edge 2026, Edge 70 Pro+, Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Max, Edge 70 Fusion+, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70, Edge 2025, Edge 60 Stylus, Edge 60 Pro, Edge 60 Fusion, Edge 60, Edge 50 Ultra
  • Moto G Stylus 2026, Moto G Power 2026, Moto G Play 2026, Moto G 2026, Moto G 2025, Moto G Power 2025, Moto G Stylus 2025, Moto G Max, Moto G87, Moto G86, Moto G86 Power, Moto G77, Moto G77 Power, Moto G67, Moto G57, Moto G57 Power, Moto G47, Moto G37, Moto G37 Power

But here’s the catch. The list, published in an official Spanish-language blog post, appears to be incomplete. The Edge 50 Neo and Edge 60 Neo are both missing, despite both being guaranteed five major Android upgrades under Motorola’s update policy. That means they should be getting Android 17 regardless. Motorola will likely push the update to those phones without making a formal announcement, which is a bit frustrating for users trying to plan ahead.

Speaking of frustrating, Motorola still doesn’t publish a rollout schedule. You basically have to check your settings and hope for the best. That’s not good enough for 2026. Pixel, Samsung, and even some smaller brands give users at least a rough timeline. Motorola needs to sort this out.

On the feature side, Android 17 brings some genuinely useful changes. The Live Updates UI has moved to the center camera cutout, similar to how Apple handles Dynamic Island. The Settings page got a visual refresh that looks closer to Pixel’s design language. There are new status bar icons, a redesigned volume interface, and updated Wi-Fi, battery, and signal icons. The HelloUI app drawer now has better background blur and a cleaner 3×3 grid layout. Screenshots now use a three-finger swipe down, and split-screen kicks in with a three-finger swipe up. New features also include Landscape Stereo, Qira AI assistant, Enhanced HDR Brightness, and a Battery Health tool.

So yes, Motorola is genuinely improving its software game. The pace is faster, the feature list is real, and the device coverage is wide. But it still needs to communicate better with its users. Winning the update race doesn’t mean much if people don’t know when the finish line is.
