Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro display sizes are confirmed, and nothing is changing

A screen protector company just accidentally confirmed what Apple hasn’t officially said. That’s the state of the iPhone leak cycle in 2026, and honestly, it tracks. According to Android Headlines, Diamond Glass, the company that manufactures screen protectors for smartphones, published display measurements for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup before Apple had a chance to. So here we are.

The numbers: the iPhone 18 Pro is coming in at 6.27 inches, which Apple will almost certainly round up and market as 6.3 inches. The iPhone 18 Pro Max lands at 6.9 inches. If those figures sound familiar, that’s because they’re identical to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple is not changing a single millimeter here.

And look, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The current sizes hit a sweet spot for most people. The 6.3-inch Pro is big enough to feel premium without being ridiculous, and the 6.9-inch Pro Max is firmly in max-screen territory for anyone who wants it. But let’s not pretend this is exciting news. It isn’t. This is Apple pressing the copy-paste button on display sizing for the second year running.

Beyond the size, both phones are keeping flat displays and the Dynamic Island pill cutout at the top. The frames stay flat too. No curved edges, no wild redesign. Apple is clearly saving its design energy for something else entirely.

That something else is the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first ever foldable phone, which is set to launch alongside the Pro models. It’s a wide foldable, meaning it opens horizontally like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, not a flip-style form factor. This is a big deal. Apple has watched the foldable market grow for years without participating, and now it’s finally showing up with a direct answer to Samsung’s flagship foldable. Whether it’s actually better is a question we’ll have answered soon.

All three phones, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra, go official on September 9. Apple has already teased the event, so the date is locked in. What’s not launching that day is the base iPhone 18, which has been pushed to next year alongside the iPhone Air 2. That’s a notable shift in Apple’s usual release pattern and suggests the company wanted to keep the September spotlight squarely on its high-end lineup, especially with the foldable debut grabbing so much attention.

For anyone waiting on a major upgrade, here’s the honest reality. If you have an iPhone 17 Pro, the display alone gives you zero reason to move. The real question is what Apple is doing under the hood with chips, cameras, and battery life. But if you’ve been holding out for a foldable iPhone? September 9 just became a very important date on your calendar.
