Samsung’s One UI 9 beta is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 launched with One UI 9 out of the box, and Samsung isn’t making Fold 7 owners wait long to get in on the action. The One UI 9 beta is officially live for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and if you’re in the right country, you can grab it today.

According to SamMobile, the first One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rolling out in the US, UK, India, and South Korea. Those are the only four markets getting access right now, so if you’re outside those regions, you’ll have to sit tight for a bit longer.

Signing up is straightforward. Open the Samsung Members app, join the beta program, then head to Settings, tap Software update, and hit Check for updates. The beta should show up ready to download over the air. No sideloading, no sketchy files from the internet, just a clean official update straight from Samsung.

This matters because One UI 9 is built on Android 17, which is a meaningful software generation jump. The Fold 7 is still a 2025 flagship, so getting this update keeps it competitive with the Fold 8 series on the software side. Samsung has been pretty consistent with its beta rollout strategy over the past few years, and expanding it quickly to recent flagships shows the company is at least trying to keep older hardware feeling current.

The beta program also gives Samsung real-world feedback before the stable release hits millions of devices. So if you sign up, expect some bugs. That’s not a knock, that’s just how betas work. You’re helping Samsung find problems before the final build goes out to everyone else.

Here’s what you need to get started:

  • A Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the US, UK, India, or South Korea
  • The Samsung Members app installed and updated
  • Beta program enrollment through Samsung Members
  • Settings open to Software update to check for the OTA

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to stay on the Fold 7 instead of upgrading, having One UI 9 on your device is a solid one. The software experience now matches what Fold 8 buyers get on day one, and that’s genuinely good news for anyone who spent serious money on last year’s foldable.
