Samsung pushes August 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S23 FE

Not every update gets to be exciting. Sometimes it’s just Samsung quietly patching up a two-year-old phone and calling it a day. But for Galaxy S23 FE owners, that’s actually fine because a security update that fixes 56 vulnerabilities is still a meaningful one.

Samsung has released the August 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S23 FE, and it’s already live in most parts of the world, including Asia and Europe. The international variant weighs in at 273.99MB and carries firmware version S711BXXSIGZH9. That’s not a massive download, but it addresses 56 security issues, which is a solid sweep for a device that launched back in 2023.

If you were hoping this update would also bring the One UI 9.0 beta, you’ll want to temper those expectations. Samsung rolled out the One UI 9.0 beta to three other Galaxy S23 lineup devices recently, but the S23 FE wasn’t included. There’s no word yet on whether it’ll join the beta program at all. The phone is expected to eventually receive One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17, but that could also be its final major software update. So while it’s not getting cut off tomorrow, the clock is ticking on how much longer Samsung will give it meaningful attention.

That’s the reality of buying a Fan Edition device. You get flagship-adjacent specs at a lower price, but Samsung’s software support timeline doesn’t always treat these phones with the same generosity as the mainline Galaxy S series. Still, the company deserves credit for continuing to push security patches to devices in this generation. Monthly security updates matter more than most people realize because they close real gaps that bad actors actively try to exploit.

To grab the update on your Galaxy S23 FE, just head to Settings, then Software update, then tap Check for updates. If it’s available in your region, hit Install now and you’re good to go.

  • Firmware version: S711BXXSIGZH9
  • Update size: 273.99MB
  • Security fixes: 56 vulnerabilities patched
  • Availability: Most global regions including Asia and Europe

For now, S23 FE users stay secure. The bigger One UI 9.0 question is one Samsung still hasn’t answered.
