A 4,000 single-core score on Geekbench. Let that sink in. That’s not a number we’ve seen casually thrown around in Android benchmarks, and the Vivo X500 Pro Max just hit it. According to Gizmochina, multiple Geekbench listings for the device have confirmed a 4,000-plus single-core score and a 13,000-plus multi-core score. Those are seriously impressive numbers.
The phone running those benchmarks carries the model number V2602DA, which is believed to be the Satellite Communication Version of the X500 Pro Max. It’s powered by the Dimensity 9600 series chip, which packs a core configuration that means business: three cores at 3.10GHz, three at 4.35GHz, two at 4.55GHz, and a Mali-G2-Ultra-NX MC12 GPU. Both the Chinese and global variants are expected to run the same chip, so this performance isn’t some region-exclusive setup.
Why does this matter? Because Vivo is clearly positioning the X500 Pro Max to go head-to-head with the best flagships out there. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 series has been quietly gaining ground, and scores like these suggest it’s not playing second fiddle to Qualcomm anymore. That’s a shift worth paying attention to.
The hardware story doesn’t stop at raw processing power. The X500 Pro Max is officially confirmed to feature a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 2K display, likely at 144Hz. The camera system, if the leaks are right, is genuinely ambitious:
- 50MP Sony LYT-838 primary sensor with a 1/1.28-inch size and LOFIC technology
- 50MP Sony IMX8-series ultra-wide camera
- 200MP periscope telephoto with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 85mm focal length
- 50MP front camera with autofocus
The phone also apparently supports 90W wired charging, confirmed through 3C certification, with 40W wireless charging likely in the mix too. Add an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and an IP68/69 rating, and this thing reads like a spec sheet designed to impress on paper. The real question is whether Vivo can deliver on all of it in actual daily use. Big numbers are easy to list. Execution is harder.
Vivo is expected to announce OriginOS 7 on September 16, with the X500 series reveal coming roughly a week after. So the timeline is close. If Vivo sticks the landing, this could be one of the more compelling flagship launches of the year.
